Its scary out there in the 'real world'. No one has held back in saying that, and its part of the reason for my ERASMUS year- trying to feel as prepared as I can (though you never will).
You will never be 'ready' or have enough training but you need to trust yourself. So how do you do well out there when you see everyone going straight into dance work or worse not? What did they do?
Advice
- Throw yourself into everything- dance, drama, paid, voluntary
- Network and by that people mean drinks. Buy people drinks, sit and talk about ideas
- Trust that you are capable
- Even if you have a plan, go for anything that
comes up- things may change and its better to have
options
- Decide where you wanna locate
- Do your own projects, film them, broadcast
- Go to all dance events you can find
- Keep in contact with people from uni (trust me they'll act like your friends when you may have never spoke when it comes to knowing people)
- Believe in yourself
ITS SCARY BUT YOU CAN DO IT. BREATHE.
